Indian Head Massage has been practised in India for over a thousand years. Today, the technique used is known as "CHAMPISSAGE" (Champi is the Hindi word for Head Massage) and has been devised by Narendra Mehta - founder of the London Centre of Indian Champissage.
Blind since a child and with a highly developed sense of touch, he has drawn on the skills evolved through the ages to provide a simple, safe and highly effective therapy.
The upper part of the body is particularly vulnerable to stress and poor posture. Tension accumulates in the neck, back, shoulders and head. Massaging these areas has a very potent effect - de-stressing the whole body.
Champissage works on a physical, mental and subtle level and promotes a feeling of relaxation and well being.
It was brought to England by Narendra Mehta in 1981.
